Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer Listener must register and attend one of the 3 ½ hour trainings listed in the training schedule of our web site. Once the training has been completed, the volunteer Listener selects a school that is geographically convenient for their weekly listening session. In order to become a Listener, we ask that you commit to listening to a student for the entire school year.
The Miami-Dade County Public Schools considers Listeners to be a Level 2 volunteer. A finger print background check is required by M -DCPS before you can begin listening to a student.
